This Swiss pet food brand already had more than 280 blog posts in each of its four language versions. Getting more of that content found in Google was a substantial part of the job.
We fixed technical issues, optimized the site’s pages using keyword research and improved the links between blog posts. Following the internal linking work, the blog pages were indexed more quickly and organic traffic increased.

Client’s story
The brand sells fresh pet food in Switzerland. Its website serves customers in English, German, French and Italian, with an extensive blog in each language.
Our work covered the existing website and the next stage of content. We addressed technical issues, optimized pages around relevant searches and prepared a four-month content plan.
Getting the existing site in order
We started with the technical cleanup. That meant fixing 404 errors, cleaning up 301 redirects and adding breadcrumbs.
Broken pages and redirects needed attention before we built more links around the site. Breadcrumbs gave visitors a route back through the site’s sections, making it easier to move between pages.
Matching pages to customer searches
We collected the keywords relevant to the business and used them to guide on-page optimization across the website.
For the blog, we carried out a separate round of keyword research and reviewed competitors in the pet food niche. That research helped us choose subjects for the content plan and connect each planned article to a relevant search topic. The work covered all four language versions.
Working through more than 280 posts per language
Internal linking became one of the largest parts of the project.
With so many articles already published, we had a large body of content to work with. We improved the links between related posts so readers could continue to useful information and Google had more routes to discover those pages.
Following this work, the blog pages were picked up by Google more quickly. Organic traffic also increased.
Planning the next four months
We used the blog research and competitor analysis to prepare a four-month content plan across English, German, French and Italian. The plan gave the team a schedule of topics to work through in each language.
Search performance
Google Search Console recorded 5.85K clicks and 195K impressions during the reporting period. Both clicks and impressions increased toward the end of the period.
